I've recently arrived in Brisbane from the UK. My background is in designing CCTV systems on the London Underground and Heathrow Airport. Are there a set of Australian CCTV Standards? Particularly with regard to the rail industry... or does each individual state/ rail operator run with their own?
The Australian CCTV Standards are your best bet at the moment. There is more information and links at http://www.el51televisionstandards.com.au/projects.html. You may also find the rest of http://www.el51televisionstandards.com.au/ of interest.
As far as Rail Standards go it appears to be a mish mash of standards State by State. I have a number of different UK rail Standards and related tests which have been used here by the more informed sections of Rail. Unfortunately, there is a COAG Mass Passenger Transport document which is used by some and you can read my review of the COAG document at http://www.lessimmonds.com.au/coag.html. A new write-up about this document is on the way.
Now that I have stepped on some controversial ground I will shift back to the real stuff. Our CCTV Standards and CCTV Certification development are receiving considerable interest and encouragement from the UK and Europe. And there is plenty on these projects at http://www.el51televisionstandards.com.au/ and http://www.cctvcertification.com.au/.
