welcome to cctv certification
There is considerable discussion in the CCTV industry about how to make end users and employers confident they are contracting and/or employing CCTV personnel who are actually capable of carrying out the CCTV work they are engaged, or employed, to do. So, how do you give end users and employers confidence? An obvious and effective method is to develop a CCTV Certification process for various levels of the CCTV industry.
CCTV certification will benefit end users as they will know that the consultants, designers, installation technicians and maintenance technicians with CCTV certification have “shown what they know” and, if they pass, have been rewarded with formal CCTV Certification as proof of such.
Those the CCTV Certification Committee currently consider should be certified are; CCTV installation technicians, CCTV maintenance technicians, CCTV system designers and CCTV consultants. It should also include IT personnel involved in the above areas of CCTV. There may be different levels of each but it is best that CCTV Certification is kept as simple and as understandable as possible.
It is proposed that a syllabus be issued along with directions for suitable face to face training, online training and appropriate books. This means candidates could study at their own pace and then sit for the theory and practical exams appropriate to their area of interest. The syllabus will be available to traditional educational facilities and hopefully those who are interested will participate with appropriate courses.
To enable the CCTV Certification Committee to receive your comments and ideas a CCTV Certification Forum is available on this web site for you to add your comments and ideas about CCTV Certification.
